Please join us for the homecoming pep rally tomorrow (10/18/2024) at 3:30pm in the new gym! Visitors need to park in the parking lot south of the old gym, in the gravel parking lot across College Street from the old high school, and along the curb of College Street. To help prevent traffic complications, please do not park in the new parking lot to the north-west of the new school building or along any of the new driveways around the new building. All visitors must enter the new school through the main entry on the front of the building.

Parents and Guardians of PK-3 students please join us for the ROAR presentation on Nov. 21st in the cafeteria at 1:00. ROAR is targeted toward elementary-aged children and is a fun and interactive lesson in abuse prevention. A cartoon lion named Rex empowers children to stay safe from abuse by teaching them his Rules of ROARing:
R: Remember, privates are private
O: Okay to say no
A: Always talk about secrets
R: Raise your voice and tell someone
In the presentation, ROAR facilitations only use the words “private parts;” no
other words or specific language is used. Through the ROAR program, it is our
hope that teaching age-appropriate prevention will help our students feel
powerful, prepared, and protected. If you would like more information on ROAR program, please visit the website at
info@virginiashousetx.org or carecenter-okc.org/we-educate.
Parents have not attended in the past, but we would like to open the presentation to them to raise awareness of this helpful information and help them understand what their child has learned from his invaluable presentation.
Please sign, date the form being sent home today, and return this form by November 20th.

A BIG Greyhound thank you going out to the Throckmorton County Volunteer Firefighters today for their presentation to our elementary students. The students learned about having two or more exits planned for an emergency evacuation, talking with their families about a special meeting place if they were to experience a house fire, covering their face with their hands if they have to stop, drop, and roll, and to always yell loudly if a firefighter calls their name if they were lost in smoke. The students are all bringing home a special bag with family discussion topics. Please take time and let your child tell you what they learned and develop or review your family's emergency plan. 🚒🧯👩🏻🚒
