Throckmorton Band Students Excel in Contests

Three Throckmorton Band Students were selected by audition to perform in the U.I.L. All-District Band Clinic and Concert held at Wichita Falls High School February 2, 2008. Tucker Brown, Trombone and Brian Voss, Trumpet, played in the Junior High Symphonic Band. Paige Cannedy, Flute, played in the high school ATSSB All-District Band and was also chosen to play in the ATSSB All-Region Clinic and concert held at Argyle High School on January 19th.
In the U.I.L. Solo Contest held at Wichita Falls High School on February 23rd, three Throckmorton Band students received a First Division “Superior” rating on their solos. Brian Voss, eighth grade on trumpet, Cooper Neely, senior on trumpet and Paige Cannedy, freshman on flute each received a medal for their performance. Paige Cannedy also advanced to the State level solo contest, to be held in San Marcos on May 26th, 2008.
